Frames for Online Resonance Art

Online.. you can choose between..
1. Floating Shadow Frame or
2. Gallery White Frame or
3. Tasmanian Oak Frame 

These frames best support The Keys Resonances.

Resonance Art Frames are selected for their unobtrusive and subtle character which minimises distraction between you and The Resonance Art. 

Each is compatible with all of the surfaces we offer in our Resonance Art range.

OPTION 1::: FLOATING SHADOW FRAME

We have chosen the Floating Shadow Frame as it makes the Resonance Art appear to float off the wall.
It creates a sense of depth and dimensionality.. casting visually pleasing shadows.

There is no visible frame to distract your attention so you can let your eyes rest on the art and deeply feel the resonance. The Floating Shadow Frame sits behind the Resonance Art piece.. set-back from the edge -to be as invisible as possible- whilst providing some structural integrity and a mounting point.

Resonance Art pieces with the Floating Shadow Frame will sit approximately 1.3cm - 1/2inch off the wall.  They appear to ‘hover’ on the wall as if floating -which creates the shadow effect.

Note 1: When viewed from an extreme side-angle.. this frame may be subtly visible. For example: when you put your head against the wall to look behind the art piece.. or if you are viewing it from above or underneath -such as in a stairwell. This is generally not an issue; however.. you may want to consider the other framing options below.

Note 2: This is the only frame available for round-shaped Resonance Art.

Note 3: Resonance Art pieces with this frame are unprotected at their edges. They require careful handling so that these edges are not accidentally bent. See Note 5 below and the Care & Cleaning section for instructions for this.

Note 4:  All square and rectangular Resonance Art pieces with a Floating Shadow Frame are finished with slightly rounded corners -a 0.3cm - 1/8inch radius- as standard.

This is hardly noticeable -to ‘the naked eye’ the edges still look like square corners. So why do we do it? This is a sharp metal material. Slightly rounding the corners minimises your risk of bodily injury (or damage to clothing or walls.. floors and furnishings).

Note 5: -A special note for Floating Shadow Frames: Although the metal art surface is strong and scratch-resistant.. the material itself is relatively thin. Framing protects it best. A Floating Shadow Frame looks amazing.. but the art is vulnerable wherever it is not supported by a frame- especially near the edges.

The outer edge can bend. Large pieces can even buckle at the edge when just leaned against a wall (For example: before hanging or when taken down for wall cleaning or painting or moving house). Don’t lean anything against an art piece either. Lay it flat on a flat and stable surface.. or slide it back into its original packaging. If bent -then yes- you can often bend it back quite easily. It is just better to avoid that situation in the first place!!)

Putting your art pieces back in their protective packaging after you’ve checked them over on delivery is a good idea. Leaving them out leaning against walls or on uneven furniture is not a good idea -unless you take great care. 

When you are spring cleaning or repainting your walls.. we recommend that you store your ‘Floating Shadow Frame' Resonance Art pieces in a way that will not damage them.. and that anyone working around them understands how to treat them (or better.. avoid them).

If any of this is an issue.. consider framing options that protect the edge all around the Resonance Art pieces you are ordering. 

OPTION 2::: GALLERY WHITE FRAME

We have chosen the Gallery White Frame as it looks almost frameless from the front. 
You can easily explore the resonance and feel the connection with minimal distraction.  

From the front.. a thin white line is seen framing the art piece.. whilst the white side sits approximately 3.3cm / 1.3inch from the wall for a more premium look.

The frame is easy-care and can be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol to remove scuff marks. It also provides structural integrity to better protect the edges of your Resonance Art piece. 

If you really like this look but wish to have your Resonance Art pieces with extra-deep sides to sit off the wall with an almost ‘window’ effect.. then you can do this by booking a consultation for a special custom order.

OPTION 3::: TASMANIAN OAK FRAME

We have chosen this  Tasmanian Oak Frame as it provides a natural warmth without dominating the vibrancy of The Resonance Art.

This frame is a modern minimalist Scandinavian-inspired frame that subtly sits around The Resonance Art. It allows you to drop-in to the feeling of the resonance without your eyes being overly distracted by the frame.

Depending on your art installer.. the frame is 3.5cm / 1.37inch deep off the wall -creating a relatively deep premium feel.

When viewed from the front.. the frame moulding is 0.7cm / 0.28inch wide.. with a small recess/ gap between The Resonance Art edge and the timber frame moulding.

The wood is sustainably managed Australian raw hardwood ‘Tassie oak’.. and the frame provides greater structural integrity for your Resonance Art piece.

We have chosen the Hidden Frame & Hanging System for the 11inch / 28cm Round -Mirror Gloss Metal as it is virtually invisible from the front and very light.

There is no distraction from the frame so your eyes can rest on the art and deeply feel the resonance.

Unframed & Recessed Hanging Groove

Your Satin Wood art piece is unframed as its  18mm / 0.7inch deep ply wood edge/ side is a visual feature. The resonance of the art piece/s can be enjoyed visually unimpeded.. as there is no distraction from a frame.

Along with the soft finish.. your eyes can easily rest on the art and deeply experience the resonance.

Your art piece/s come with a  ‘Recessed Hanging Groove’ -a channel that has been routed into the back of the wood for easy hanging.
